Our Responsibility as a Fiduciary
Rule 206(3)-2 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 requires that advisors act ‘in the best interest of the advisory client.’ Here at HWM we work closely to understand your defined investment objectives, your current financial situation and on-going investment needs. We use a client profile and a personal client interview as our tools. In addition, we meet face-to-face with clients at least two times a year in addition to proactive phone and email contact.
As the financial advisor of an advisory account, we assume the responsibility of a fiduciary. This obligation comes with a heightened level of responsibility requiring HWM to act in the best interest of our clients at all times. We exercise this fiduciary duty through appropriately managing accounts based on each client’s financial circumstances and investment objective and provide unbiased and impartial advice.
Through the advisory platform, available through LPL Financial, there is a fiduciary duty that is generally considered the highest legal duty that one party can have to another. With this fiduciary responsibility, we have an affirmative duty of care, loyalty, honesty, and good faith to act in the best interests of our clients. This duty is provided on an ongoing basis throughout the advisory relationship we develop.
